I am an activist scholar-filmmaker interested in understanding the complex impact of migration on people’s intimate lives.
My work, both academic and filmmaking, recognises that while mobility is an intrinsic feature of human history, migration is integral to continual capitalist expansion. I embed this conceptual understanding of migration, its trajectories, and experiences within an interdisciplinary theoretical framework consisting of migration studies, political economy, postcolonial theory, masculinity studies, and critical race theory.
Committed to praxis, I believe that no knowledge is useful for self-gain. Through collaborative research and works, I strive to create diverse platforms for silenced voices to become agents of their own (re)presentation, to be heard, and to obtain social justice.
